YGA Leadership Program |

YGA Leadership Program consists of 3 steps :
1 - LDP: Leader Discovery Program : Seminars and Project Workshop.
2 - LEP: Leader Educating / Training Program : Leadership School in Istanbul and Leadership Camp/ Conference in USA.
3 - LCP: Leader Development Program : Leader Coaching and Leadership Workshop. |

1 - Leadership Seminars

Student applications received through the YGA web site and applications received after the university seminars are evaluated by the YGA selection board. Students who qualify participate in the project workshop which is the Creative Libraries: Read-Think-Share Program. |

2 - Project Workshop

Creative Libraries: Read Think Share :
40 students selected by the YGA selection board participate in the Project Workshop every Saturday from 11 am to 1pm as trained volunteer moderators to teach the Read-Think-Share program. |

3 - Leadership School

| Every year 15 students are selected by YGA selection board from Project Workshop to participate in the Leadership School in Saklikoy- Istanbul. |

4 -USA Leadership Camp/ Conference

Each year YGA selects 15 Turkish and American university students from different campuses in Turkey and USA. Every September the selected participants undergo two weeks of leadership training camp/ conference in New York, Washington D.C , Raleigh,NC and Figure Eight Island, Wilmington. Speakers who are leaders in their field from Turkey and USA give seminars, workshops, train and educate the participants on leadership skills. The participants also meet with NGO's from different fields. The International conference exposes the participants to cross-cultural exchanges between the countries and gives them new perspectives and ideas on leadership development skills. |

5 -Leadership Workshop

YGA graduates develop and implement projects / programs in different areas of social, economic and education development in Turkey and in USA. All of YGA's projects and programs are on-going.
1 - Istanbul Cultural Ambassadors:
The aim of this project is to select, educate and train Istanbul Cultural Ambassadors from all over the world to build cultural bridges between the countries. To introduce Istanbul, Turkish culture and Turkish cuisine.
2 - Empowerment of Visually Impaired Youth:
To empower the visually impaired university students. To educate and train visually impaired socially responsible leaders.
3- Leadership School for the Disadvantaged Youth :
12 students are selected from the Creative Libraries- Read-Think-Share program Every year in August they participate in the YGA Leadership Camp in Saklikoy/ Istanbul.
4- Teach Turkey- Volunteer Teacher Program:
Young Guru Academy participants are trained as moderators to teach the
Read Think Share program in the disadvantaged elementary schools in Turkey.
They teach this program as volunteer teachers.
5- Change Makers:
Partnership with employees of multinational companies. Employees of multinational companies participate in the social change projects of YGA.
6- Partnership with the Ministry of Elementary Education:
Every year 12 Kardelen teachers are trained as moderators to teach the Read Think Share program in the disadvantaged elementary schools.
7- E- Read Think Share
8- Partnership with YIBO's.

6 - Leader Coaching

| Every other month YGA graduates meet with Leaders from different fields and backgrounds for mentoring sessions. These sessions include topics such as Leadership Development Skills, Innovative Leadership, Insightful Innovation for Social & Economic Development, Managing Diversity, Cultivating the Turkish and American Leaders of Tomorrow and Unleashing the Potential Within. |

I 've been following YGA's programs for sometime now. I am very impressed with the program and with the YGA graduates. I 've participated in the workshop for the visually impaired youth and was very excited to be with a group of individuals who had so much energy. I am still thinking of ideas to share with the group for the empowerment of the visually impaired youth.
