" It's almost the end of the 10 day GSL program. I've met many amazing people. People who have that fire for the things their doing.
Program started with a movie; Freedom Writers. I don't know a better movie to start the program. I think it brought the feeling to all of us; YES WE CAN.
Every day we had YGA hosts with us. They were great fun and enthusiastic. We cooked Turkish food, did Turkish art Ebru, and visited many exciting cultural places which were all great experiences.
One of the best things was the Leadership Camp day. We spent one day in the camp and got to listen to great keynote speakers. I'm really thankful for that day. It was exciting to listen to people who have achieved a lot.
GSL brings young, energetic and motivated people who believe in change for a better world together from different countries. By sharing our experiences and opinions, we learn and are able to understand the world and ourselves better.
I am grateful for participating in this exciting program. "

The opportunity to be a Global Servant Leader is one of those experiences that comes once in a lifetime. I traveled across the world to a place and culture that was foreign to me, without any expectations, but with hopes to shape my thoughts of the Turkish Culture.
If there was ever a place one wanted to visit in Turkey and dive into the culture, you better believe YGA had it on the "things to do list" as well as the reasoning and history behind them.
The idea behind GSL program is to bring socially aware young adults from around the world to built bridges together to better understand the inter-workings of NGOs and how young adults could get involved. YGA has the right idea about mobilizing young adults around the world and making sure they are socially aware.
My experiences with GSL this year has prepared me to appreciate and work harder to make the organization City Year better.

" Being part of the Global Servant Leader Project has been an amazing experience for me. I have had the opportunity to meet and work with incredible individuals from not only Turkey but Finland as well. YGA has introduced me to a whole new culture by exploring Istanbul and learning about the mission of the Young Guru Academy.
The most valuable part of being a YGA Global Servant Leader is getting the chance to work with people from different parts of the world who are all so passionate and dedicated to social responsibility. We all found a common ground in knowing that we are all focused on creating a better world than what exists today."

YGA Öğrencilerinin rehberliğinde Boğazı vapurla gezdiler, Büyük Ada'da Sosyal Sorumluluk Projeleri üzerinde beyin fırtınası yaptılar.

Program süresince, çalıştaylarda YGA projeleri üzerinde çalışıldı. Global Hizmetkar Liderler, YGA uluslararası liderlik okulunda, kendi profesyonel deneyim ve bakış açılarını kattıkları çalışmayı sunma fırsatı buldular.

Program çerçevesinde Global Hizmetkar Liderler, YGA gönüllüleri ile birlikte Türk Yemekleri pişirip Hayal Ortakları ile birlikte yediler; bununla beraber İstanbul Ebru Vakfında aldıkları Ebru kursu ile Türk kültür ve sanatını daha da yakından tanıma fırsatı buldular. Yuşa Tepesi’ndeki dinletide hayatlarında ilk defa ney ile tanıştılar.

İstanbuldaki tarihi yerleri ve eserleri gezerek, Türk kültürünün ve geleneklerinin geçmişten günümüze gelen uzantısını gözlemlediler. YGA mezunlarını evlerinde kalan Global Hizmetkar Liderler Türkiye’deki gündelik hayatı tecrübe etme fırsatı buldular.
