Global Impact College Program

What is the Global Impact College Program?

The YGA College Program is designed for students who have successfully completed YGA’s Global Impact High School program
or have connected with YGA during their university years and are studying abroad.
This program is tailored for university students studying at top universities in Europe and the U.S. who aspire to contribute to making Turkey
and the world a better place while simultaneously developing themselves.
YGA students actively participate in the World Science Movement project, leading science education sessions for underserved children to instill science with conscience and create digital science content. Throughout the year, high-potential volunteers are selected for the College Program based on observations from science workshops and evaluations from YGA Alumni and Dream Partners mentoring groups.
College students dedicate a total of 200 volunteer hours over the course of the one-year program. They actively participate in:
  • Mentorship programs
  • Online sessions & broadcasts
  • Camps & internship opportunities
  • Fieldwork in the Science Movement Project
Through YGA’s field study approach, students are nurtured with the philosophy: “Those who lift each other, rise together.”
Their team-based responsibilities in the field play a crucial role in their development.

Know-How Sessions

Within the program, volunteers participate in live sessions with YGA Alumni and Dream Partners, focusing on the skills and knowledge they seek to develop.

College volunteers begin the program by receiving technical training to become Science Communicators. They complete specialized training with the Science Movement and Twin teams, covering:

  • Content design & writing
  • Moderation & facilitation
  • Field application of educational materials

Through YGA’s Double-Winged Education vision, volunteers engage in monthly mentorship meetings with

YGA Alumni to internalize YGA’s core values.

Leadership Development Programs

These are interactive sessions where YGA Alumni and Dream Partners engage with participants in a genuine and meaningful way.
The goal of these sessions is to provide volunteers with the opportunity to closely observe Dream Partners, ask one-on-one questions, and gain valuable insights that will contribute to their personal and professional growth.

Volunteer Camps & Science Workshops

YGA Volunteers, guided by YGA Alumni, take on key responsibilities within the World Science Movement Project, gaining firsthand experience by closely observing the founding teams of globally awarded YGA social impact ventures.
From technology-based solutions for the visually impaired to renewable energy systems, volunteers collaborate on diverse social innovations, developing skills in R&D, project management, and problem-solving. They enhance their expertise through hands-on experiences, working alongside fellow YGA members studying at world-renowned universities, including Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, UPenn, Berkeley, Cambridge, Oxford, UCL, and Imperial College.
YGA Alumni play an active role in mentoring and supporting volunteers, offering on-the-job feedback that improves both technical skills and personal awareness. Volunteers present their ideas to YGA Dream Partners, gaining real-world project experience and learning to execute high-impact social innovations.

The admission process for the Global Impact College Program begins with the Global Impact Meet-up event held in May. This event is the first stage of the program selection process. Participation in the event is mandatory for young people who wish to apply to the GIC Program.

Applications will be evaluated with references from graduates of the Global Impact High School Program.

Don’t forget to follow us on our social media accounts to stay updated on the process!
All students admitted to the program will be accepted on a scholarship basis.
