According to the 2020 Global Gender Gap Report, Turkey ranks 130th out of 153 countries in terms of gender equality. The report highlights that one of the biggest challenges preventing the closing of the economic gender gap is the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles.
Additionally, TÜİK data shows that while women’s employment rate in Turkey stands at 33%, their representation in the technology sector is only 10%. Both in Turkey and globally, there is still a long way to go in increasing women’s presence in tech.
UP School empowers women by providing specialized training in software development, helping them unlock their full potential and bridge the gender and skills gap in the tech industry.
